Shintoism is the worship of spirits known as Kami. Two God's Izanagi-no-Mikoto (he who invites) and Izanami-no-Mikoto (she who is invited) are the creators of Japan. They are the creators of the three most important Kami: Amaterasu the Sun Goddess is revered the most as the mother to all Emperors, Tsukiyomi, God of the Moon, and Susanoo, God of the Storms. Shinto religion is the relationship between humanity and all natural things. Kami are believed to occupy all natural objects: mountains, lakes, islands, trees, flowers, animals, and rarely human beings. Kami are the abstract forces of nature. They can be nice and there are terrifying Kami as well.
